چکیده

Abstract Changes in Land Use Cover (LULC) are currently one of the greatest pressing issues facing watershed, its hydrological properties soil, and water management catchment areas. One most important elements impacting streamflow watersheds is LULC change. The main objective this study was to evaluate effect future predication change on Fetam watershed by using Cellular Automata (CA)-Markov IDRISI software. To analyze impact land use/cover streamflow, Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) calibration validation model used. map developed software, coverage LULCs including parameters cropland, vegetation, grassland, Built-up area/Urban body. findings showed that major challenges use/cove changes were rapid population increase, farming, industrial activity. During period (2000–2020), portions body, grassland changed into cropland constructed building. Cropland construction areas increased 15% 46.95%, respectively, whereas bodies, decreased 62.7%, 70.02%, 38.1%, respectively. According forecasted results for 2030–2040, built-up increased, while bodies . SWAT model's performance evaluated sensitive parameters. For years 2000–2004, 2005–2012, models calibrated validated, good agreement between observed simulated with NSE R 2 values 0.88 0.72 0.9 0.85, indicated seasonal from 2000 2010 2010–2020 during dry rainy seasons. In general, impacts significant considerations planning implementing resource projects. order address risks, effective land-use climate-resilient strategies will be improved.

Impact of Climate Change on Runoff in the Gilgel Abbay Watershed, the Upper Blue Nile Basin, Ethiopia

Hydrological assessment is critical to the successful implementation of adaption measures. In this study, projections of seven global circulation models (GCMs) associated with high and medium–low Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP 8.5 and RCP 4.5) for the period 2021–2040 and 2081–2100 were adopted to assess changes on runoffs in the Gilgel Abbay watershed, the upper Blue Nile basin. A ...

Future climate change impact on hydrological regime of river basin using SWAT model

Hydrological components in a river basin can get adversely affected by climate change in coming future. Manipur River basin lies in the extreme northeast region of India nestled in the lesser Himalayan ranges and it is under severe pressure from anthropogenic and natural factors. Basin is un-gauged as it lies in remote location and suffering from large data scarcity. This paper explores the imp...

Impact of urban land cover change on land surface temperature

The rapid growth in urban population is seen to create a need for the development of more urban infrastructures. In order to meet this need, natural surfaces such as vegetation are been replaced with non-vegetated surfaces such as asphalt and bricks which has the ability to absorb heat and release it later. This change in land cover is seen to increase the land surface temperature. Previous stu...

The study has shown the integration of SWAT with GIS and remote sensing tool are helpful analyze and evaluate spatiotemporal land use/cover dynamics. It has also shown that Arc SWAT is an effective tool in analyzing the impacts of land use/cover changes on stream flow in areas with limited readily available data. The study also revealed that Hydrologic simulation models are very essential way u...
